I.C. De Gasperi- Pende, Noicattaro

Noicattaro, a small town of 25000 inhabitants, near Bari (15 km) the capital town of Puglia, a region of South east of Italy. It is surrounded by lots of vineyards stretching out for kilometres up to the seaside, where the coast is rich in wonderful small towns, like Polignano a Mare.

Besides in the surroundings there are amazing tourist sites like Alberobello famous for its houses with conical roofs, the Trulli, a Unesco World Heritage since 1966.

Our school is very big because there are approximately 1230 pupils divided between kindergarten (3-5 years), primary school (6-11 years) and secondary school (12-14 years). Primary school was built in 50’s and actually is attended by 588 students from first grade to fifth. Kindergarten and secondary school have been built more recently and they are attended respectively by 274 and 372 pupils.

From 1 st September 2019 the school has changed its name, that actually is “Istituto Comprensivo De Gasperi- Pende”.
